THE ELUSIVE WORK BAG

Work bag, how I have pounded the pavement hunting for you! 

Whether it’s a tote, satchel or something in-between, for some odd reason the perfect work bag has always eluded me. 

Too big and I just end up carrying around everything but the kitchen sink. Too small and I’m frustrated when my damn book and makeup pouch won’t fit in. 

So I turned to Etsy to see if it could produce the goods...

What I’ve found are some beautiful, highly-functional bags that would be perfect for work.

RIB AND HULL from Warsaw make elegant bags, like this classic black tote made from hand-finished, vegetable-tanned Italian leather.

If you're more into vintage items, have a look at this stunning tan bag from Chicago-based shop RED POPPY VINTAGE SHOP.

CHRISTY STUDIO make their range in a studio in Kuala Lumpur. The bags are made from canvas which is not only durable but helps keeps the cost down (and is vegan-friendly).

For a more casual look, BYLOOM AND HYDE from France make gorgeous bags. Check out this slouchy tote, which combines beautiful soft leather and woven fabric. Each bag is one-of-a-kind. 

Finally, a must-see shop is TREESIZEVERSE . Owner Ronald uses vintage fabrics and waxed canvas to make his range of bags and accessories. This tote made from 100-year old recycled antique linen. Each bag is handmade in his studio in Belgium.
