WHAT KIND OF GIFT-GIVER ARE YOU?

It’s official, Aussie gift-givers are either planners, surprisers or big spenders. At least, that’s what a new Etsy report on our gift-giving habits has uncovered.

For my money, I absolutely love spoiling my friends and family with personal, memorable presents. It's one of my great joys, and a year-long undertaking, and one of the reasons why I work so hard to keep my ear to the ground. Whether they mean to or not, friends and family are forever dropping  hints on what they lust for, and come gift-giving time, I am for quality over quantity.

Of course, in reality, finding the perfect gift can be a real task, particularly when shopping for men. Is it just the ones I know, or do all men say things like “I don’t need anything,” or “I already have everything I need,” or “don't waste your money!”? If you're up for the challenge, finding the perfect gift for this kind of person can often bring the most fulfilment.

And always remember, it's not about breaking the bank, but that look of surprise and joy in the eye of your recipient. What a feeling!
